Annual Hooked Up To Help Inshore Fishing Tournament

Dates for May 2023 – TBD

Tournament History

United Cerebral Palsy’s Annual Inshore Fishing Tournament was founded in 2007 by Lockley Shell and Chris Conken, two dedicated UCP volunteers. The tournament was started in a parking lot on the causeway with a fold out table, a fish scale and a goal of making a difference. The Tournament has come a long way since its humble beginnings and has experienced tremendous growth over the years. It continues to build on it’s success and with the help of sponsors and participants, the tournament has raised over $100,000.

Held on the first Saturday in May, the tournament is a family friendly event and a favorite among local competitive anglers. The categories include speckled trout, white trout, flounder and redfish. Since 2007, our tournament has raised much needed funding and awareness for UCP. UCP’s mission is to promote the independence, productivity and full citizenship of people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. UCP of Mobile serves over 30 counties in south and central Alabama and relies on this tournament to help fund its operations each year.

“Hooked up to Help” is the team’s slogan and making a difference is their aim.
